If
you're looking for the best performing, highest quality clutches available,
then Clutch Masters is what you have been looking for.
What makes them different? It starts with a 20-thousandths
stainless steel backing on the backside of the friction material. This
helps to transfer heat from the lining to minimize "Clutch fade"
and ensure consistent performance.
From there, they use a modified fulcrum point to increase pressure on
the disc but without a substantial increase in pedal pressure as seen
with other clutch brands. This is also important in protecting against
the destruction of the crankshaft from excessive pressure on the thrust
bearing which can happen when the pedal pressure is excessive. Some Extreme
duty clutches can push the crankshaft a few thousandths of an inch forward
when the clutch is depressed. This is not good at 8000 RPM.
Lastly,
the pressure plate utilizes a ductile iron casting which gives a much
higher burst strength than other "grey-iron" castings. This
gives you the peace of mind that the clutch won't be riding in the seat
with you under high rpm use.
