Tokico Shocks & Struts - HP Series
|
Tokico non adjustable shocks & struts.
Conventional shock absorbers are among the simplest and oldest of shock designs. They are common on many trucks, older cars, and a few newer cars. They are also one of the least expensive shocks.
Struts are units that combine the shock absorber with a stressed part of the suspension. The struts allows auto manufacturers to eliminate the upper control arm and upper ball joint. They use a large diameter piston rod and are quite a bit larger and heavier than conventional shock absorbers. Most struts also combine the lower spring perch or seat into their construction.
Strut cartridges were developed as replacements for rebuildable struts. While they are still being used, most newer cars use what are called sealed or non-rebuildable struts.

Spring seat, coilover, and coil-around are all terms used to describe this shock absorber. While they look like struts, they are actually shock absorbers with spring seats mounted on the body. They are not only smaller than struts overall, their piston rods are 25% to 60% smaller than struts.

Tokico TrekMaster Shocks and struts for trucks
|
The new TREK MASTER R/T shock absorbers by TOKICO use the latest technology to attack the problems of proper damping control on trucks and SUVS.
The TREK MASTER combines TOKICOs multi-stage variable-aperture piston and sandwich valve system, with a new base valve design that provides a 4-stage dual blow-off compression cycle. What all of that means is, the TREK MASTER can provide a level of handling, traction, and ride quality unmatched by other shock absorbers. In addition to the very sophisticated damping system, TREK MASTER shocks feature a low mechanical drag rod guide and piston seal design. The result is a shock with as much as 65% less mechanical drag than other shocks. Smooth operation and long life are among the benefits
The sophisticated oil-flow management system offers the capability to provide:
- Reduced body roll
- Improved steering response
- Minimal pitch and dive
- Reduced wander due to side winds
- Better cornering
- Reduced bottoming
- Better braking
- Improved ride quality

Tokico ILLumina adjustable shocks & struts
|
Tokico Illumina adjustable shocks and struts were designed for tuning street suspensions.
For the serious enthusiast, TOKICO offers 5-position adjustable shocks and struts called Illumina. The adjustment system provides you with the ability to set your car up for a variety of uses.
Even so, some units work quite well on the race track. Steeda, a well known Mustang tuner, has used Illumina adjustables very effectively on both their road race and their drag race cars. The Illumina units not only work well, but Steeda people have been very pleased with their durability.
A simple click of a screwdriver allows you to change for ride or handling balance. So whether you are going to the track, or simply cruising, the Illumina range of adjustment can adapt to your needs.

Tokico Drag racing struts for Mustangs
|
Drag racing requires different suspension settings than road racing. This is especially true for rear wheel drive cars. With the popularity of Mustang drag racing, TOKICO has developed a street/strip system of Illumina adjustable shocks and struts specifically for Mustang drag racing. 100 percent drag race shocks are very dangerous on the street. TOKICO shocks and struts allow you to race at the strip and drive your Mustang home in a safe and secure manner. |
